Description	Phentolamine is a reversible antagonist of α-adrenergic receptors, non-specifically binding all α1- and α2-adrenoceptors with nanomolar affinities. When given intravenously, phentolamine rapidly and transiently increases local blood flow, which has proven useful for the management of hypertensive emergencies. Phentolamine also has applications in controlling chronic and emergent pain.
