Description:

JNJ16567083 (EMQMCM) is a potent and selective mGluR1 antagonist that shows neuroprotective effects in some hypoxia-ischemia models; inhibits the kainate-induced excitotoxicity in primary neuronal cultures and in the rat hippocampus; significantly inhibits cue-induced reinstatement of nicotine-seeking behavior, also prevents nicotine priming-induced reinstatement of nicotine-seeking behavior.
