Description:

7-BIA is a small molecule 7-butoxy illudalic acid analog that targets receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase D (PTPRD, IC50=1-3 uM) with some specificity; weakly inhibits PTPRS (IC50=40 uM), displays IC50>100 uM at any of many tested receptors, transporters, or sites of action of other drugs; reduces cocaine-conditioned place preference in mice without toxicity, 7-BIA provides a lead compound for addiction therapeutics.
