Description:

A cell-permeable benzochromene that selectively impairs the viability and growth of IGF2-overexpressing hepatocellular carcinoma cells, binds to MFP-2, stimulates the expression of IGFBP-1 and SOCS-3 through activation of STAT6; blocks insulin-induced adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 cells (100% blockage at <20 ng/uL) and selectively suppresses IGF2-dependent growth of HepG2 carcinoma cells (IC50=29 nM); a potent IGF2 signaling inhibitor.
