A potent, selective, and oral renal outer medullary potassium channel (ROMK) inhibitor with IC50 of 68 nM; shows no significant activity on Kir family of channels and cardiac ion channels such as Cav1.2 and Nav1.5 (IC50>30 uM); evokes remarkable diuresis and natriuresis in the acute rat diuresis model at 0.3 mg/kg, causes dose-dependent lowering of blood pressure in a subchronic SHR model. |
