Description:

BMS-869780 is a potent γ-secretase modulator (GSM) that decreases Aβ1-42 (IC50=5.1 nM) and Aβ1-40 (IC50=25.1 nM) and increases Aβ1-37 and Aβ1-38 without inhibiting overall levels of Aβ peptides or other APP processing intermediates; does not inhibit Notch processing by γ-secretase and loweres brain Aβ1-42 without evidence of Notch-related side effects in rats; shows synergistic inhibition of Aβ combined with GSM-2.
