Description: | Angiotensin (1-7) (Ang-(1-7)) is an active heptapeptide of the Renin-angiotensin system (RAS), inhibits purified canine angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activity with IC50 of 0.65 uM; augments bradykinin-induced vasodilation by competing with ACE and releasing nitric oxide, abolishes AGE-induced cellular hypertrophy and myofibroblast transformation via inhibition of ERK1/2; evokes anti-arrhythmogenic effects in animal models, upregulates cardiac nitric oxide synthase in spontaneously hypertensive rats. |
