Description:

Neostigmine enhances excitatory parasympathetic activity by competing with acetylcholine for attachment to acetylcholinesterase at sites of cholinergic transmission and enhancing cholinergic action. Neostigmine is a safe and effective treatment for acute colonic pseudo-obstruction.
